Meet the leaders of Cision's North American management team who are all using their dynamic backgrounds toward developing bigger and better ways for PR professionals and journalists to connect.

  • Peter Granat - Chief Executive Officer

    Peter Granat
    In his role as CEO of Cision North America, Peter Granat oversees Cision's executive management team in both the US and Canada. Most recently, he was President and COO of the company where he managed day-to-day operations of its North American operations. Previously, he was the President of Cision’s European division based in London, and was the Senior Vice President of Sales & Business Development at MediaMap which was acquired by Cision in late 2003.

    Since 1992, Peter has been instrumental in the development of cutting-edge products and services to enable effective communication between the PR and media communities. He has worked closely with clients to deliver solutions that address a wide range of agency and corporate communications needs. Peter is also responsible for establishing alliances with industry leaders to enable Cision to provide one-stop solutions for PR professionals. Before joining MediaMap, Peter worked for Springer-Miller Systems in Stowe, Vermont, a leading provider of electronic property management solutions. He holds a BA from the University of Vermont and an MBA from Kellogg School of Management.
  • K.C. Brown - General Manager, Cision Global Analysts

    K.C. Brown
    As senior vice president and head of Cision's analysis services, K.C. Brown leads all aspects of Cision's analysis business. He is responsible for growing the business by directing product and service enhancements through the development of new metrics and methodologies. Previously, he led Cision's client development, managing the company's U.S. client portfolio across all lines of business. He came to the company via the acquisition of Delahaye, where he managed the research and advisory services group. While there, he led many of the firm's methodological and technological innovations and founded the Delahaye Index (now known as the Cision Index).

    Prior to joining the firm in 1998, K.C. worked in government and agency public relations. K.C. holds a BA from Brigham Young University in public relations and a master's in mass communications research from the University of North Carolina, as well as an MBA from The Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania.
  • Steve Brown - Senior VP, North American Sales

    Steve Brown
    Steve Brown joined Cision in May of 2007. He has overall responsibility for new business and broadcast sales for Cision North America.

    Prior to joining Cision, Steve was the vice president of business development at a leading provider of e-commerce transaction software and services for the advertising and publishing industries. He has also held various positions with Monster/TMP Worldwide, Bentley, Barnes & Lynn Advertising, and Nolan Recruitment Advertising - a company Steve founded in 1995 which was eventually acquired by Monster/TMP Worldwide.

    Steve has a bachelor's degree from Northwestern University and an MBA from the Kellogg Graduate School of Management at Northwestern University.
  • Vanessa Bugasch - Senior VP, Global & Product Marketing

    Vanessa Bugasch
    Vanessa Bugasch joined Cision in May of 2005. Vanessa has overall responsibility for Marketing and Product Marketing for Cision worldwide.

    Prior to joining Cision, Vanessa was the regional director of business development for PeopleSoft's education group. She has held various management positions in client services, training and business development areas at several companies, including Oracle and ADP. She holds a BS in management from DePaul University.
  • Wayne Bullock - Senior VP, Analysis Operations

    Wayne Bullock
    Wayne Bullock oversees day-to-day operations for Cision's media analysis group. He joined Cision (then Delahaye) in 1995 and has more than 20 years of experience as a corporate communicator and public relations researcher. Prior to joining Cision, Wayne was VP of research for PR Data Systems, Inc., a company specializing in the analysis of news coverage. He has developed media measurement programs for many of the world's largest companies and his work has been recognized with two PRWeek "Proof Awards" for the best use of research and evaluation, a CIPRA Award, and PRSA Bronze Anvil Award of Commendation. Wayne is a frequent speaker on the topics of media measurement and corporate reputation at national and international industry conferences and workshops.
  • Brett Safron - Senior VP, Product Management

    Brett Safron
    Brett Safron joined Cision in May 2001. As senior VP of product management, Brett has overall responsibility for the definition and advancement of Cision's products and services.

    Brett joined Cision from HALO Branded Solutions/Starbelly.com, a promotional products start-up where he was the director of product development. Starbelly was ultimately acquired by the world's largest promotional products firm. Prior to Starbelly, Brett was a senior consultant for Whittman-Hart, where he led a number of projects to develop e-commerce, Internet and business applications - all utilizing Web technologies. Brett has a BS in computer information systems and accounting from Indiana University, is a CPA and is a PMI-certified project manager.
  • Greg Stam - Senior VP, Development

    Greg Stam
    Greg Stam joined Cision in August 2008. As Senior Vice President of Development, Greg has overall responsibility for software development at Cision, the leading provider of software, services and tools for the media and public relations industry.

    Greg joined Cision from Platine Consutling Group, a consulting firm that he founded and successfully managed for over four years. Prior to Platine, Greg served as Director of the Business Transformation Office for United Airlines. In this capacity he was responsible for the program management and benefit realization of the Bankruptcy Recovery Plan and Best Practice Implementation. Prior to this role, Greg held the position of Director of Airport Solutions. In this capacity, he was responsible for all airport information systems worldwide. Prior to United, Greg served in Senior Director Positions at Ameritech and US Cellular focused on IT Strategy and Architecture. Greg has a BS in Computer Science and an MBA from Chicago’s Roosevelt University.
  • Scott Thompson - Senior VP, Digital Content Management

    Scott Thompson
    Scott Thompson joined Cision in October 2000. Scott has worked in a number of roles within Cision including Information Technology, Project Management Office and now in Digital Content Management. In this new role, Scott will lead the transition from traditional content monitoring systems to a single consolidated view where all content is digital.

    Scott joined Cision from Daugherty Systems, a consulting firm where he was a senior consultant and led a number of Internet and SAP implementation and system development projects. Prior to Daugherty Systems, Scott was a section head for Hughes Aircraft Company, where he led a number of projects to develop satellite software and build the infrastructure for the development and testing of software systems. Scott has a BS in Electrical Engineering from Purdue University and a Masters in Information Technology from Northwestern University.
