CHICAGO, IL, July 21, 2009 – Cision, the leading provider of media research, distribution, monitoring and analysis services to the public relations industry and other communicators, today announced that Holland America Line Inc. has chosen award-winning CisionPoint as its on-demand PR services delivery platform and the Cision Social Media Dashboard to support its global communications activities.
Holland America Line, the cruise industry’s leading premium cruise company, will use a full range of CisionPoint’s on-demand PR services, including Bacon’s Media Database and the Cision Travel & Tourism Premium Profiles, to plan public relations campaigns, distribute press releases, monitor global print, broadcast and blog coverage, and analyze and report on results. In addition, it will track global buzz and develop social media engagement strategies using the Cision Social Media Dashboard, a self-service portal that delivers real-time access to social media coverage, along with advanced reporting and analysis tools.
The company is consolidating its public relations monitoring services after using Bacon’s Media Database and a range of point products from other vendors. The communications department in Holland America Line’s Seattle headquarters focuses on media relations, international public relations, internal communications, corporate giving, event planning, issues management and strategic planning.
“CisionPoint helps us cost-effectively integrate the ways in which we monitor coverage,” said Sally Andrews, vice president, public relations, Holland America Line. “It helps us track coverage better, respond quickly to opportunities and challenges, and report promptly to our management. Its ability to deliver hard-copy clips and international monitoring and analysis was also critical. Plus, Bacon’s is a very robust and comprehensive database that’s easier to use than ever.”
The Cision Social Media Dashboard will enable the company’s communicators to respond to trends and specific issues that arise on social networks, microsites, enriched media sites and other outlets. “It puts all the social media monitoring we need in one place,” Andrews said.
